Like a beautiful flower full of color and also fragrant, even so, fruitful are the fair words of one who practices them.
Like a beautiful flower full of colour and also fragrant, even so, fruitful are the fair words of one who pratises them.

Deep Commentary

In contrast to the previous verse, the Buddha illustrates the beautiful outcome when words and actions align. Such a person is like a flower that possesses both vibrant color and a sweet fragrance—a truly perfect blossom. As ancient wisdom suggests, pursuing virtue is as difficult as climbing a steep mountain, while committing misdeeds is as easy as sliding down a slope. While speaking good words is easy for anyone, acting on them is challenging. Yet, if one perseveres and aligns their good words with righteous deeds, the Buddha praises them, assuring that their efforts will yield wonderfully fruitful results.
