Deep Commentary
Biologically, human beings are similarly formed in the womb. However, the Buddha emphasized that our present existence arises from past karmic causes. While physical gestation is the same, once born into different environments, people develop different habits and actions. As ancient masters have taught, our bodies are bound by karma and formed by a combination of conditions. The present body is the result of past deeds. Within this life, people create new karma. Driven by greed, anger, and delusion, the wicked commit evil deeds and fall into hell, while the virtuous cultivate goodness and are born in heavenly realms. This is the inevitable law of cause and effect. To end suffering, the Buddha advised cultivating wholesome deeds. Practices like the Five Precepts and Ten Wholesome Ways bring happiness in the human and heavenly realms, though these are still within the cycle of rebirth (Samsara). In contrast, Nirvana alone completely eradicates the suffering of birth and death. Through diligent practice, an Arhat removes all defilements and attains the ultimate liberation of Nirvana.
